Safety Seminar for Loco and Traffic Running Staff

                         N.F.Railway Mazdoor Union organized a Safety Seminar for Loco and Traffic Running Staff followed by a conference of Running Staff at New Guwahati on 16.02.2019. about 160 participants from different sheds and branches have participated the Seminar.

        Com. Pijush Chakraborty, Joint General Secretary, explained the objectives of the Seminar. In his speech he reminded the slogun  of International Transport Workers Federation “Safety First Not Profit”. He also mentioned that the theme of the seminar is “ No more SPAD, No more accident”

In the beginning of the session a condolence meeting was held in memory of 49 CRPF Jawans who have sacrificed their lives on terrorist attack at Kashmir on 14th February, 2019

The Seminar was inaugurated by Com. Rakhal Das Gupta, General Secretary of the union  which was addressed by various resource persons like Shri B. Lakra, CME/O&F, Com. Ashis Biswas Jt. General Secretary, Venu P. Nair, General Secretary, NRMU(C.Rly) & AGS/AIRF, Shri L. Saikia, CFTM, Shri P. Kishore Babu CPO(A)

       Many of the  participants namely  Shri Rajesh Kumar from Katihar, K.R.Dey from Lumding, Rakesh Kumar and Sandip Kumar from New Bongaigaon, Pankaj Kumar from Lumding, Ranjit Kr. Chetia & Ashutosh Kumar from New Guwahati pertaining to Loco Running and Shri J Sahu from Badarpur and Shri R.S.Sharma from Rangapara North pertaining to Traffic Running Category raised various issues in  the seminar which should be redressed properly to arrest accident. They highlighted the issues of continuation of BPC, non sanctioning of leave, to give priority to punctuality over safety, excess duty hours, improvement of running rooms etc.

Shri Pankaj Kakoty, Branch Secretary of New Guwahati  Branch offered vote of thanks to the dignitaries and the participants for successfully completion of the seminar.
