4th Triennial General Council (45th Annual General Council) of South Central Railway Mazdoor Union(SCRMU)

                                                                                                                             PRESS STATEMENT              Dt.9-9-2015,
The 4th Triennial General Council (45th Annual General Council) of  South Central Railway Mazdoor Union(SCRMU),   affiliated to All India Railwaymen’s Federation (AIRF) and Hind Mazdoor Sabha (HMS) concluded today i.e. on 9-9-2015 in the Rail Nilayam Auditorium at Secunderabad.  The delegate session held as  part of the above General Council was presided over by Mr.K.Srinivas, President/SCRM Union.
The above General Council has unanimously passed resolutions for conducting the Strike Ballot for the proposed indefinite strike to be held on 23-11-2015. The other resolutions unanimously passed in the above General Council include, Opposing Bibek Debroy Committee Report, Amendments to the Labour Laws, Introduction of  FDIs  AND PPPs on Indian Railways, Privatisation, Contractorisation and outsourcing of departmental activities, Implementation of 8 hrs. duty to all Railwaymen, Payment of Transport Allowance to the Workers of Wagon Workshop, Guntupalli, Dispensation of requirement of matching surrender for creation of posts, Non-Payment of HRA to the employees who vacate the Railway Quarters till others occupy the released quarters, Provision of employment to the wards of Railwaymen, Filling up of vacancies in safety and non-safety categories, Grant of Washing Allowance to all staff supplied with Uniforms, Provision of facilities for woman employees, Running Room and Subordinate Rest House facilities for railwaymen,  Exemption of Transport Allowance from the purview of Income Tax, Construction of  Houses for the Railway employees etc.
Presiding over the General Council, Mr.K.Srinivas has detailed the circumstances which are forcing the Railwaymen to go on indefinite strike and appealed to all the delegates to actively participate in the proposed strike to achieve the long pending genuine demands of Railwaymen. 
 Mr.Ch.Sankara Rao, General Secretary/SCRM Union has presented his report on the activities of the Union during the interregnum since the last Annual General Council.  In his report, he detailed about the political and economic situation of the country, various issues with which Railwaymen are confronted with and also the steps being taken by the Union to secure justice from the hands of the Railway Administration.   
 He also vehemently criticized over the anti-labour attitude of the Government of India and also the measures proposed in the Bibek Debroy Committee Report for privatization of  departmental activities in the Railways.  He has also stated, that, the Central Government is trying to snatch away the rights and privileges secured through several struggles,  by amending the Labour Laws detrimental to the interet of  working class.  He stressed the need to go on indefinite strike on 23-11-2015 and appealed all  the Railwaymen to make the strike a grand success.
 The Audited Statement of Accounts submitted by Mr.S.Sreedhar, Zonal Treasurer/SCRMU were passed unanimously.
 The above General Council unanimously elected Mr.K.Srinivas as President/SCRMU, Mr.Ch.Sankara Rao as General Secretary, Mr.C.M.Papaiah as Working President, Mr.G.Udaya Bhasker Rao, Mrs.N.Arundhathi, Mr.K.Muralidaran and Mr.K.Sudhakara Sastry as Asst.General Secretaries, Mr.S.Sreedhar as Zonal Treasurer of SCRM Union.  The meeting also unanimously elected  the Divisional Office bearers  for Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur, Nanded, Workshops and Extra Divisional Branches of South Central Railway Mazdoor Union.
 While Mr.G.Udaya Bhasker Rao, Asst.General Secretary of SCRMU welcomed the delegates, Mr.S.Sridhar, Zonal Treasurer of the Union proposed vote of thanks.
