All India Protest Day on the call of NJCA/AIRF observed by SCRMU at Hydrabad on 30.12.2015

As per the clarion call given by the All India Railwaymen’s Federation(AIRF) and the National Joint Council of Action (NJCA)  of Central Government employees organizations, massive demonsrations/dharnas and Lunch Hour meetings were hel

 

d all over the South Central Railway today.  All India Protest Day  was observed  in front of  Zonal Headquarters, Divisional Headquarters and various workshops and depots by the South Central Railway Mazdoor Union (SCRM Union). 

 

A massive demonstration and a Lunch Hour meeting were held at Secunderabad in front of  Rail Nilayam, the Zonal Headquarters of S.C.Railway in which more than 1000 employees belonging to local branches of Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Workshop and Extra Divisional Branches Divisions of SCRM Union and raised slogans against the anti-labour policies of the Government of India and retrograde recommendations of 7th CPC.

 

Addressing Railwaymen gathered, Mr.Ch.Sankara Rao, General Secretary, SCRM Union and Asst.General Secretary, AIRF vehemently criticized the retrograde recommendations of 7th Central Pay Commission in the matter of  minimum wages, rate of increment, abolition of certain allowances and advances, reduction of House Rent Allowance, reduction of wages for the woman employees availing second year CCL etc. etc. He also expressed his anger over the implementation of Bibek Debroy Committee Report, which envisages many a number of recommendations which are harmful not only to the Railways but also to the Railwaymen. He stated, that, the report has opened the doors for privatization of Indian Railways.  He also stated, that, there is every need to oppose the NDA Government’s stand on introduction of 100% FDIs and PPP in Indian Railways.  He explained the employees, the circumstances which forced the AIRF and NJCA to take a firm decision to go on indefinite strike during the month of March,2016. He also stated, that, the strike ballot will be conducted on 11th & 12th February,2016 and appealed to all Railwaymen to participate in large number and support the decision to go on Indefinite Strike.

 

Presiding over the meeting, Mr.K.Srinivas, President, SCRM Union and Vice President/AIRF appealed to the Railwaymen to be united and fight against the anti-labour policies  of the Central Government and also to oppose the retrograde recommendations of the 7th CPC recommendations submitted to the Government of India. He demanded a minimum pay of Rs.26000/- w.e.f.1-1-2016 instead of Rs.18000/- recommended by the 7th CPC.  Railwaymen should be prepared to respond to any call that may be given by the AIRF and NJCA to fight against the Government of India’s indifferent attitude towards working class, he added.

 

While Mr.G.Udayabhasker Rao, Asst.General Secretary welcomed the gathering, Mr.P.Yugandhar, Divisional Secreary/EDB Division proposed vote of thanks. The meeting was also attended by Mr.K.Muralidaran, Mr.K.Sudhakara Sastry, Asst.General Secretaries, Mr.S.Sreedhar, Central Treasurer, Mr.K.Siva Kumar, Mr.G.Butchi Reddy, Divisional Secretaries,  Mr.K.Yadava Reddy, Mr.G.Srinivasa Rao, Vice Presidents among other leaders of the Union.
