Sub: Introduction of Flexi Fare System for Rajdhani/Duronto and Shatabdi Trains

Flexi Fare System for Rajdhani/Duronto and Shatabdi Trains has been introduced by the Railway Board(Ministry of Railways) vide Commercial Circular No.46 of 2016 over the Indian Railways.
Railway employees are entitled to avail journey on the PTOs paying 1/3 of the fare of the class to which they are entitled.
It is observed that, the System of Flexi Fare is also being applied in case of railway staff travelling on the PTOs in Rajdhani/Duronto and Shatabdi Trains, which is highly unfair because, only limited number of berths and seats are allocated for reservation of railway staff travelling on Passes/PTOs and they cannot be allowed accommodation beyond this earmarked quota.
AIRF, therefore, urges that, necessary clarification be issued to all the railway administrations not to apply Flexi Fare System, in case of railway employees travelling on Railway Passes/ PTOs in Rajdhani/Duronto and Shatabdi Trains, at an early date.
