REPORT ON CONDUCTING A WOMEN MEET ON 06.03.2015 ON THE EVE OF WOMEN’S DAY AT VIJAYAWADA
The South Central Railway Mazdoor Union, Vijayawada Division women wing conducted a meeting on 06.03.2015 at Com KSN Murthy Bhavan, Vijayawada on the eve of International Women’s day. More than 300 women employees attended the meeting. Assistant Divisional secretary Smt. M. Leela welcomed the dignitaries Smt. N Sudha Rani, Vice President, SCRWWO, Smt B. Keerti, Member SCRly Women Employees grievence Cell, Smt. Rama Devi, 8th additional District Civil Judge, Vijayawada, Com. CH Sankara Rao GS/SCRMU, AGS/AIRF, Com. P Ram Gopal , Vice President/SCRMU and Com. GN Srinivasa Rao DS/SCRMU. The meeting was started with giving tributes to Smt. Maniben Kara Ex President/AIRF. Smt. RM Lakshmi Divisional Treasurer gave a brief speech on SCRMU women wing activities, achievements of women in railways and importance of women’s day. She also explained future plans to conduct more programs in future by women wing of South Central Railway Mazdoor Union. Smt Ramadevi delivered a speech on women empowerment, provisions for women in Indian law and necessity for improvement of women in all sectors. Smt. N Sudha Rani demanded for strict implementation of acts on women harassment. Smt. P Keerti commended the services of mazdoor union for encouraging women in trade union activities. Com Ch. Sankara Rao addressed the gathering regarding women empowerment and gave assurance to provide continuous support to women employees through organization. Com. G N Srinivasa Rao demanded for family care leave for women employees in addition to child care leave, Provision of Flexible working hours in employment for women employees. Smt. Ramadevi distributed the prizes for Women of the year, Women of the Month and Women of the day and consolation prizes among the participants. Smt. M Leela spoken on improvement of women participation in trade union, self reliance of women, necessity of women education and concluded the meeting by giving vote of thanks.
