No.AIRF/24(C) Dated: November 15, 2016
The Chairman,
Railway Board,
New Delhi
Dear Sir,
Sub: Demonetization of Rs.500 and 1000
The Railwaymen are facing lots of problem due to demonetization of Rs.500 and 1000. Though we are not against demonetization of the Rupees, but the Railway employees, working in emergency services, particularly Running Staff, are forced to form lines before the banks and post offices, resulting in suffering of government works badly on account of withdrawal of money by them from the banks and post offices.
Under these circumstances, AIRF earnestly requests your goodself to kindly arrange to disburse some amount to Railway employees, so that they should not be forced to form queues at the banks and post offices.
If Rupees 5,000 per employees are given to them at this crucial juncture, it will help them and their families a lot in running their household for a few days by the time things become normal. Rs.5,000, so given, can be adjusted against the salary of next month.
It is also requested you that the money so given to the employees should be in lower denomination of Rs.100 and Rs.500.
