ON THE CALL OF AIRF RAILWAYMEN OBSERVED “BLACK DAY” AGAINST ANTI-LABOUR ORDERS OF THE RAILWAY BOARD 

New Delhi: 6th February, 2017 – On the call of All India Railwaymen’s Federation (AIRF), the Railwaymen expressed serious anguish over issuance of Railway Board’s orders dated 30.01.2017, wherein under para 4 Supervisors(GP Rs.4200 and above) working in Safety Categories have been debarred from becoming office-bearers of the unions/federation.

General Secretary of All India Railwaymen’s Federation(AIRF), Shri Shiva Gopal Mishra, informed that, “Black Day” was observed today by all the affiliates of AIRF all over the Indian Railways by organizing rallies, demonstrations, gate meetings, demonstrations; wearing black badges and ribbons etc., demanding immediate withdrawal of the aforementioned letter of the Railway Board. They also sent Protest Letters through emails, fax to Hon’ble Minister for Railways and Chairman Railway Board and the General Managers of their respective railway administrations. He said,               “if this letter of the Railway Board is not withdrawn immediately, Railwaymen will be compelled to take direct action”.
