No.AIRF/116 Dated: June 27, 2020

The D.G.(H.R.),
Railway Board,
New Delhi

Dear Sir,

Sub: Extension of one-time relaxation for retention of Railway Accommodation in view of the COVID-19 Pandemic

Ref.: Railway Board’s letter No.E(G) 2020 RN2-COVID-19 dated 19.05.2020(RBE No.38/2020)

As you are aware that, due to recent COVID-19 Pandemic and lockdown in the whole country, Railway Board, vide their letter under reference, have decided to allow suo-motu retention of Railway Accommodation by the Officers/Staff for the period from 17.03.2020 to 30.06.2020 on payment of License Fees.

It is worthwhile to mention here that, all regular Passengers and Mail/Express Trains have been cancelled till 12th August, 2020 due to severe spreading of COVID-19 in the country, therefore, transferred Staff/Officers are not in a position to shift their accommodation at the new places.

Board are, therefore, requested to communicate necessary sanction to the Genral Managers of all Zonal Railways and Production Units for extension of suo-moto retention of Railway Accommodation till the situation normalizes, to avoid unwanted charging of Damage Rent from the employees.

An early action in the matter shall be highly appreciated.
