Sub: Reservation for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities(PwBDs) for recruitment  from open market – List of post identified suitable for them – Reg.

Ref.: Railway Board’s letter No.E(NG)II/2017/RC-2/1 Policy dated 27.02.2019

A list of the posts identified suitable for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities was issued vide Railway Board’s letter dated 27.02.2019 referred to above. Recruitments of the PwBDs are being done in accordance to the above instructions.

It has been noticed that the PwBD candidates appointed as Helper S&T, Helper Electric TRD/TRS and many other categories in Mechanical/Civil Department are not able to perform their duties properly because of the nature of work involved. Moreover, work place being near to running lines; their life is also at risk and work of the Railways too suffer.

AIRF is of the considered view that, requisite percentage of reservation as per extant instructions be provided to PwBDs in the recruitment, but review of the categories, found suitable for appointment, needs to be done, so that, they can perform their duties to their fullest capacity without any risk to their life.
