New Delhi: 7th May, 2018 – Despite assurance given in clear terms by the Government of India and Ministry of Railways in a meeting of the General Secretary All India Railwaymen’s Federation(AIRF) and other leaders of the Central Government Organizations with the Group of Ministers, comprising of Hon’ble Home Minister, Hon’ble Finance Minister, Hon’ble Railway Minister and Hon’ble Minister of State for Railways, held on 30th June, 2016, that the Government of India would consider the demands of the Central Government Employees – “Improvement in Minimum Wage and Fitment Factor after implementation of VII CPC recommendations, provision of Guaranteed Pension and Family Pension to all the NPS covered employees, irrespective of their date of appointment, stoppage of indiscriminate outsourcing of perennial nature activities, contractorisation leading towards wholesale privatization, no fruitful outcome has emerged as yet despite lapse of around two year’s precious time……

72 HOURS “RELAY HUNGER STRIKE” OF THE RAILWAYMEN ALL OVER THE INDIAN RAILWAYS ON THE CLARION CALL OF AIRF

AIRF in its meetings of the General Council and Working Committee, held on 13-14 March, 2018 in New Delhi, has rightly decided to stage “Mass Relay Hunger Strike” of 24 hours duration each for three consecutive days, i.e. 72 hours at all the Branches of the affiliated unions of the Federation(AIRF) all over India, commencing from the morning of 8th May, 2018, i.e. tomorrow.

“All the Branches of AIRF affiliates are, therefore, going to stage the aforesaid “Relay Hunger Strike” from the morning of 8th May, 2018, i.e. tomorrow, all over the Indian Railways, wherein large-number of Railwaymen would sit on “Relay Hunger Strike” to press upon their above-mentioned major demands and to awake the Government of India to resolve the same without further delay”, this was informed by Shri Shiva Gopal Mishra, General Secretary, All India Railwaymen’s Federation (AIRF).
