Blood donation Camp held at Alipurduar, Badarpur and Lumding
In view of celebration of the 36th death anniversary of Com. Priya Gupta, former General Secretary of AIRF and N.F.Railway Mazdoor Union, Alipurduar Junction, Badarpur Junction and Lumding junction branches organized Blood donation camp on 12th August, 2015.
At Alipurduar in presence of Shri Rakhal Dasgupta, General Secretary of the union and President of AIRF the camp was inaugurated by Shri Sanjeev kishore, DRM. A total of 111 union members including 20 women workers donated blood in the camp.
Joint General Secretary of the Union Shri Pijush Chakraborty donated blood in the first batch of 5 persons. DOM of Alipurduar Jn. Dr. Anil Kumar also donated blood. The function was witnessed by ADRM, CMS, Sr. DME and many other officers.
The entire function was organized by the youth wing and Women wing of the Alipurduar Branch which was led by Shri Bibhash Joarder, AGS and Convenor of the division inactive participation of Shri Gautam Dey & Shri Gautam Majumder, branch secretaries of East & West Branch respectively. Women leaders Smt. Latika Guha & Smt. Pampa Sen both the Joint Secretary of East Branch supervised the camp very efficiently and smoothly.
At Badarpur in presence of Shri Bhajan Ch. Dey, AGS of the Union the camp was inaugurated by Area Manager, Badarpur Shri Singh. A total of 46 union members including 2 women workers donated blood in the camp. Smt. Sumana Banerjee, Chairperson, Zonal women Committee also donated blood. The camp was led by the leaders like Shri Uttam Das, Shri Sajal Chakraborty, Shri Saumen Guha and many others.
At Lumding Junction the blood donation camp was led by Shri Suhash Das, President, Shri Swapan Kr. Dey, Secretary and Smt. Madhumita Dey, Asstt. Secretary of the union. As there is no blood bank except in Rly Hospita, which has very low preservation capacity, only 12 persons can donate their blood. Other 26 persons tested their blood group for future utilization. Beside these Maligaon General, Maligaon Ladies and New Bongaigaon Workshop Branches distributed fruits amongst the patients admitted in the Hospital.
