AIRF has demanded to implement below mentioned pay structure, recruitment rules and  promotional hierarchy over the Indian Railways, as has been provided to by the Nodal Ministry to the Laboratory Staff working in various major government hospitals.

Sub: Review of RRs, upgradation of pay scales and change in nomenclature of designations of         Medical Lab. Staff of the Indian Railways 

Ref.: Ministry of Health & Family Welfare’s O.M. No.A-28020/11/2008-PMS(Part-I) dated 17.07.2015

Ministry of Health & Family Welfare(Government of India), which is the Nodal Ministry, vide above cited Office Memorandum(photocopy enclosed for ready reference), have revised the designations and the pay structure of the Laboratory Staff, working in various major Government Hospitals under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, as under:-

  • The posts of Asstt. Gr. II & I (PB-I, GP Rs.2000 and 2400) have been upgraded to GP Rs.2800 with designation of Jr. Medical Lab. Technologist.
  • Technician(PB-I, GP Rs.2800) have been put in PB-II, GP Rs.4200 as Medical Lab. Technologist.
  • Staff working in PB-II, GP Rs.4200 have been upgraded as Technical Officer(MLT) with PB-II, GP 4600(Group `B’).
  • Staff working in PB-II, GP Rs.4600 have been upgraded to Technical Officer(MLT) with PB-II, GP Rs.4800.
  • A new post of Chief Technical Officer(MLT) with PB-III, GP Rs.5400(Group `A’) has also been created.
  • 50% posts of Medical Lab. Technologists, in PB-II with GP Rs.4200, should be filled-up by promotion from the existing staff.
  • The post of Attendant(PB-I GP with Rs.1800) will be phased-out on functional ground.

The Board are, therefore, requested to implement aforementioned pay structure, recruitment rules and  promotional hierarchy over the Indian Railways, as has been provided to by the Nodal Ministry to the Laboratory Staff working in various major government hospitals.
