Sub: Restoration of five-day week in Cash & Pay Office, Central Railway

Ref.: Railway Board’s letter No.E(LL) 92/HER/1-8 dated 15.05.1996

Six-day working roster was introduced for Cash & Pay Staff working in Central Railway w.e.f. 15.05.1996, as per directives of the Railway Board contained in their letter referred to above.

Working pattern of Cash & Pay Staff, mode of payment to railway Staff and mode of collection of railway revenue by Cash & Pay Staff, working of bank etc. had undergone drastic changes since 1996, and, therefore, in the present scenario, this section of the employees is not needed to be employed for 6-day roster working and can be switched over to 5-day working without causing any hindrance in normal function of this section, and on the contrary this may yield positive returns by way of saving energy and other resources.

The Dy. CAO(G), Central Railway vide letter No.Cash/4/HER/2015 dated 08.09.2015 (enclosed for ready reference) has requested the Railway Board to accord necessary sanction for 5-day working in Cash & Pay Office in Central Railway, duly reviewing their decision.

The Board are, therefore, requested to communication necessary sanction to Central Railway for 5-day working in Cash & Pay Office in Central Railway at an early date.
