WORKING COMMITTEE MEETING OF AIRF 3-4 JUNE, 2019, CHENNAI RESOLUTION NO.1 – PEOPLE’S VERDICT

In the recently held elections, for the 17th Lok Sabha, BJP has been voted to power consecutively for the second term. Although, they received massive mandate all over the country except South, i.e. Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Kerala, where YSR Congress, DMK and Congress Party respectively, have emerged with massive mandate. This time people have voted to a stable government. All India Railwaymen’s Federation(AIRF) congratulates to all the winners of these historic polls.

The Working Committee of AIRF, met at Chennai on 3rd and 4th June, 2019, assured the new government for all cooperation from AIRF. It is expected that the new government will take a fresh call on long pending issues; agitating the Central Government Employees in general and the Railwaymen in particular all over the country:-

(i)         Improvement in Minimum Wage and Wage Structure, including Fixation Formula of the 7th CPC.

(ii)        Removal of anomalies of the 7th CPC.

(iii)       Withdraw New Pension System(NPS) on Railways, restoring Guaranteed Pension and Family Pension Scheme to all the Railwaymen; irrespective of their date of appointment.

(iv)       Allowing First Option for the Pensioners, as recommended by the 7th CPC as “Additional Option” to whom it is beneficial.

This Working Committee, urges the government to hold negotiations with AIRF to resolve the above issues, otherwise AIRF will be forced to resort to trade union action, keeping in view the growing frustration amongst the Railwaymen.
