The Member(Staff),
Railway Board,

Dear Sir,

Sub: Provision for exclusion of Retiring Railway Employees from mandatory joining of RELHS-97
Ref.: Railway Board’s letter No.2011/H/28/1/RELHS/Court Case dated 31.07.2018

Pursuant to the demand raised by AIRF(AIRF’s PNM Item No.19/2016), for exclusion of Retiring Railway Employees from mandatory joining of RELHS-97, in cases where spouse is already availing this facility, Railway Board, have issued necessary instructions vide their letter under reference.

Unfortunately, date of implementation, mentioned in Railway Board’s letter ibid, is from the date of issue, i.e. 31.07.2018.

Since the quantum of amount to be recovered from RELHS beneficiaries, which was revised vide Railway Board’s letter No.2017/H/28/1/RELHS dated 23.02.2017, and further date of effect was modified from 23.02.2017 to 01.01.2016, as such date of implementation of Railway Board’s letter dated 31.07.2018 should also be preponed from 31.07.2018 to 01.01.2016 in the larger interest of justice and parity.
