Kindly call for this office correspondence, bearing number even dated 31st August, 2020, on the aforementioned subject, whereby it was explained that the decision, taken after mutual dialogues and deliberations in DC/JCM Meeting held on 16th January, 2020 and subsequent Informal Meeting with your goodself “to review the decision of closure 05 number Railway Printing Presses which were earlier decided to continue functioning”, should be honoured in letter and spirit.

It is quite unfortunate that, Railway Board is in hurry to sell-out newly procured ROTATEK off-set Printing Machines equipped with latest technology (to print PRS and UTS Ticket Rolls) to Security Printing & Minting Corporation of India Ltd. It is further astonishing that, Security Printing Press have requested the Railway Board to sell the aforementioned ROTATEK off-set Printing Machines at a meagre value of 5% of original cost of these Printing Machines. Evidently, a huge amount of Railway revenue shall be wasted without any logic in case these machines are sold out to SPMCIL, that too violating the agreement arrived at with the Organised Labour.

It would, therefore, be quite appropriate that the decision to close down the captioned five Railway Printing Presses should be reviewed, as already discussed and agreed, and the same may be allowed to continue to save unwarranted for wastage of huge amount of Railway Revenue without any justification and logic.

This may kindly be treated as “Most Urgent”.
